Dad and daughter duo, Frank Gaudet and Laurie Ruecker started CrossCourt Badminton in 2017 but have been playing and coaching for over 20 years prior. Their vast experience in badminton has them playing and coaching all around the world including Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, and all across Canada. Laurie is a provincial title champion many times over, has coached and played in the Saskatchewan Winter Games and Canada Winter games several times and has trained with Olympic teams! Frank is coach extraoenaire being the head coach for Para Badminton since 2014, has coached several Para games including the Columbia, US, and Brazil Para International. He is a certified aboriginal coach who has coached and coordinated the North American Indigenous Games since 2006. He is currently the Executive Director of Saskatchewan Badminton Association, Personal Coach of Wyatt Lightfoot, and has hosted several national and international events on behalf of Badminton Canada. And this is just to name a few of their roles in badminton over the years!

Frank is a level 3 professional badminton Coach. Frank is the National coach for Para Badminton. Frank attended the 2021 Olympics in Tokyo. Frank is the coordinator of the Saskatchewan Junior Provincials as well as the Saskatchewan Winter Games for the last three games. He has coached the Zone 2 badminton team at Saskatchewan Winter Games. He was the manager of the Western Canada Summer Games in 1998 and has coached the Western Canada Summer Games twice. Frank was the coach for the Canada Winter Games in 2007 as well as 2011. Frank has been the coordinator for the North American Indigenous Games for the past 3 games as well as the coordinator for the First Nations Winter Games for the past 12 years. Frank was the Chairman of the 2007 Canadian Open held in Saskatchewan as well as the Chairman of the Junior Nationals held in Saskatchewan in 2004 and next year.

Laurie Ruecker (Beginner, Advanced, and Elite Coach)
Laurie is a level 2 professional badminton Coach. Laurie has attended 2 Canada Winter Games as an athlete and two as a manager. She has attended 2 North American Indigenous Games as well as coaching the badminton team in the 2006 North American Indigenous Games. She has attended numerous Western Canada Summer Games, Badminton Nationals, and provincial tournaments. As a player she travelled to India, Hong Kong, Singapore to train with the Olympic badminton teams. She also went to Australia and New Zealand to play in tournaments where she won the ladies doubles event. Laurie’s goal as a coach is to help the athletes improve and refine their skills.
